Building a Balsa Board (cont. 2)

Inserted a thin piece of balsa down the center. It's from a different batch from the other wood and may show a slight contrast for the center line.

Rough blank ready for leveling and trimming. The outline is oversize at this point.

The blank has been roughly planed. The task now is to get the blank to about the same point that a foam blank would be when it comes out of the mold.

After cutting the outline to 1/2" over I start to cut the first bands to dome the deck.

Now I'll cut the final outline and get it true. It's easier to cut when rails are not so thick.

After cutting the final ouline, the next step is to adjust the nose and tail rocker.

Measuring the nose and tail rocker. I'll increase the rocker as I foil the nose and tail from the bottom.
