Balsa Bill's Surf Legends and Stories
People are always telling me, "Bill, you should write a book!" To which I answer, "I did write a book." And if you're interested you can get it here: Surfboards, Stratocasters, Striped Shirts, The Beach Boys on Tour 1966. Okay so it's a photo journal. But I
do have a lot of other stories. So instead of a book you'll see them here
or on my Youtube channel. The other comments I hear from people is about the various legends lists, hall of fames etc. People have their own ideas about who should or shouldn't be in or not. To these people I say, so just start your own Legends Hall of Fame list. Anyone can do it. And if it's yours put whomever you want in it. Scott Mijares did one in Kauai. He had
an event for surfing legends anually. Each year had a theme. One year
it was the Duke Kahanomoku Team. Another was for Dick Brewers 80th birthday.
It was a natural outgrowth of his raido program. The interviews are available
here: Monty Smith Started the Puerto Rico
Surf Legends in 2012. He has a yearly event. The East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame was originally called Greg Noll's East Coast Surfing Legends Hall of Fame. In the beginning it was a promotional event for a line of surfwear bearing Greg's name. Now it's the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame. So don't wait around to be inducted. Start your own. So, here it is. Since no one buys books
much anymore and since I have my own website, I decided to take my own
advice and here it is. My Surfing
Hall of Fame and Surf
Stories pages.
